Stock voltage on gtx 470- good or bad

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I just got my gtx 470 today at microcenter. I wanted to check for core voltage for my card, so I ran msi afterburner and nvidia inspector, and it gave me 1.037 as the core voltage. This point I was wondering if that is the correct stock voltage, or do I have to lower my voltage enough and put it through stability test to see the real stock voltage?(What is considered a good/bad voltage also)
I am also wondering what programs or application I should run to make sure my card is stable.
Forgot to mention I have the EVGA ssc gtx 470(heard stuff about factory bumping up the voltage on purpose so it's stable because apparently it's overclocked)
Thanks

if NI shows 1.037 for VID, its your stock voltage. It's a little high as I seen as low as .912 and as high as 1.05.

You pretty much answered it yourself. EVGA bins their card so you can assume its better than others, but the only way to find out its to overclock and see how far you can push it - I'd set a goal of 850core and see if you can do it on stock voltage.

Wow wow, this sucks so bad haha, it's all good though, microcenter is like 15 min drive from my house lol might just take this back and trade for another one, what programs should I run to check stability? And what should I aim for memory oc?

850 is almost impossible for stock voltage. EVGA cards are not better than other vendor's.

EVGA oc scanner. Push the core to 850, and memory to 1700 and see if you're stable. If it takes more than 1.050v~ then you can expect it being a "regular" card.

His "stock" voltage is 1.037, and I've seen people reach 850 core with less than 1.087, which is the average voltage for that certain clock.

Default is fine, rising your res should be able to detect artifacts faster from what I've noticed.
