turn it into a Router! slap untangle on it and have it control your whole network!

it's what I did and it works a bazzilion times better than my DD-WRT router.

The 3000+ is too powerful to waste. Trust me, I have big computer needs and lately I was indeed stuck on a computer with a 3000+ and only 512MB of RAM and it could at least run my portable firefox with 20 tabs open. It's not that bad at all, and even has 1GB. I'd try that on a crap Pentium 4 with 256MB RAM or something but not for that of course.

Yeah, as someone said, slap a Linux distro on it! I'm using an older, slower computer than that (Athlon XP 1600+) as an extra web-surfer (for like, when I'm gaming full-screen on my sig rig), and at least when it's running Linux, it does that job very well. I've tried 6-7 distros on it, and I like Ubuntu 10.10 the best so far.

I would not even try running Windows 7 on an Athlon 3000+ with 1GB RAM. It'd be pathetic. If you must run it with Windows, use XP or 2000.

Turn it into a media server. Or just light it on fire, either way.
