if you only game then 965 or 955 x4

and for the mobo you cannot expect great things from a 770.

With my setup and considering my cpu cooler is a BEAST would it be possible to overclock to 4Ghz?

Also does this processor have any potential to unlock cores? (my M4A77D has an unlocking feature)...Also would the multiplier with this chip in my bios be locked and not me to adjust it?

Thanks again

I'd say the x6 1055 would be your best bet. It's more powerful and a newer revision so it'll overclock better. Not to mention I've been seeing some really nice CPU-NB OC's out of them.

As for your cooler, it will not be able to handle either CPU at 4 GHz. You will need a better one.

Are you sure about the cooler?

I can barely get this thing to go over 40C running my 7750 Kuma at 3.1ghz OC and 100% on Prime 95....

Not to mention I have two 120's and 1 140 fans in my case(and the 120 fan on the PSU and a 120 on the CPU Cooler)....it stays very cool...

Its huge and flows 70cfm

I'm positive. It's just not efficient enough to cool off that much of an overclock.

You'll need something like this:

Noctua NH-D14

What temp do I need to keep the 1055T under when I am overclocking and running it on prime 95 (100%)?

Come on guys....the 1055t overclocked will fry that board.Your board is limiting your options. It has 4 phase power/no heatsinks and a 4-pin power plug. You can run 150watts through that if you want to.Best to stay with a 4core,or get a better board.

That board has 5 Phase power and NO cooling for it. DO NOT get the X6. Get the X4 and be happy
