There have been several others who ran the chip on the m4a77D I have seen on here...

What are power phases you guys are referring to? (it has 140 Watt CPU Support)

get the x4, it'll OC easier due to unlocked multi

for 1055t you need a decent mobo that can do 250+ HTT at least if you want to oc, cus the multi is locked

If I remember correctly I am running my HTT at 243 with my current overclock....

Im kinda stuck on getting rid of my mobo and ram since I just bought them two months ago with the purpose of having a Mobo ram combo that would work with my 7750 Kuma but also give me room to upgrade to an AM3...

From the sounds of it....it sounds like my MOBO will work for the job but maybe overclocking I might now be able to get super high with...maybe a mild OC of 3.4 or 3.5?

The 955 BE will clock higher than the 965 as it is C3 stepping

Hello.

Look. Get the X4. Its better option for YOU. Might be diferent for other people.. Yea The 1055T overclocks better.. I have one and I OC to 3.8ghz and its stable like a table. But your motherboard will accutaly have issues OCing the X6, since it does not provide enough power. If you don't need the extra 2 cores.. Its useless.. I play a lot of games. And the cores are not even near max... So for games X6 is too much.
Ill recomend for you the X4
Another reasons: x4 has unlocked multiplayers.
Can over clock high.
X6 gets HOT.
For your MoBo, x4 will fit better...

Yea.. go for the X4

My Mobo has the drivers and can support up to 140w usage...Im confused? Not enough power?

I was actually referring to the 1055T above...I am assuming that based upon what folks have said is that I can use the processor...but may not be able to overclock it super high (4ghz)....but could prob still get a decent overclock out of it?

If your board says it will support the 1055 then it will, but without 8+2 phase power you really shouldn't be looking for 4ghz overclocks. I think I personally would quit around 3.4-3.5ghz range. Even the 890FX boards that only have 4+1 phase power have had exploding issues from time to time with significant overclocking done on them. Think about selling your board on craigslist and buying a used 790x-ud4p here on the marketplace. I believe there is one up there, if I'm remembering right it's even one of the posters in this thread selling it.

As for the cooler, I am currently running 1.475v at 4GHz, and am peaking out around 44-45C while being completely silent, your 40-41C for 3.1GHz really isn't 'great', I have trouble believing it could get any proc up to 4GHz. I could be wrong though, because I really don't know much about the GeminII S. BlackOmega linked a very high end cooler on the other page, you don't need something THAT high end to get an AMD chip to 4ghz, you'd most likely be fine with nothing more then a Scyth Mugen 2.

You'd be best off with a 955 if you still have to buy, if your family bought you the 1055 already then grats, you just got a great processor and it'll do you great in the 3.4-3.5 range.

You also asked about max temps, you want to peak some where in the 62+C range, the temp sensor reads on average about 10C low, so you don't want to be going a whole lot higher then 52+C when in Core Temp. So when I'm reading 44C while stressing I'm actually more likely around 54C. You get the idea.

Edit: ^ Temperature information was meant for the 1055 only!

Here's the Specs:

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...INC&templete=2

Asus says it is AMD 6 core ready and it supports up to 140w CPU Support

Here's also some more info

http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/m4_6cores/

Mine is the M4A77D...

Tell me if you think a new Mobo is needed based upon this info above...Also could you explain these "phase power" thing people keep mentioning...whats it mean?

Thanks
