Ok took the HDD out, and put it flat on my desk and its fine now

Could it have been to do with the fact its mounted sideways in my raven?

It doesnt make the high pitch noise on startup now either

Could be the bracket vibrating with the HDD in, put it back in and make sure it's secure, and see if it does it again.

Ok, i made sure the HDD was fastened to the HDD Cage properly

Put it back in, and the loud pitch noise at startup is back

I would try a 5.25 adaptor, and make sure S.M.A.R.T does not detect any errors,
