Hi I was wondering whats a easy way to OC my stock cooled i7-860? Is there a unlocker or good tool for Intel i7 cpu like MSI AFB which I use for my GTX470, or is this processor difficult to OC? Thanks for any info/help!

All programms in order to overclock a cpu through windows are tottaly crap and they use much higher voltages than it should be.Try only through Bios, but first i suggest you buy a better cooler.

I believe there are tools for overclocking in windows by changing the FSB however for a more permanent and stable solution you will want a bios overclock.

What motherboard do you have?

I have started OCing my computer before a month(new as you).At the beginning i used some application but they are ALL SHI....If you want a nice safe and stable OC you need to read a little bit and buy a better cooler.

Also the cpu is controlled from the motherbord and BIOS,there you have to search the changes, that's the correct,it's not the same as gpu which you can OC through MSI AFB.

I see maybe I'll wait for better cpu cooling. Also the chipset I'm am using is the Intel H57,and my bios options are somewhat limited. I'll probaly just stick with my current config., because I'm going to build new rig in the summer. I really was just trying to get a little more out of my i7-860, also are there any other way to get some small performance gains like page file size or other tips/tricks?
