Need help on Overclocking system.

post #1 of 3
Thread Starter
Currently I am using a MSI X-58 Pro-E motherboard, with a i7-960, 6GB RAM from Team XtreemDDR3 1866 CL:9-9-9-24 RAMs.
Also using a GPU; MSI N460GTX HAWK.

Any recommendation? I do require some experts to help me here, because i tried a few things and somehow some of my commonly 'ok' games crashed on its own.

Thanks =)

What kind of cooler are you running on your CPU?
If its on stock, I wouldnt overclock the CPU. To overclock the GPU, download MSi Afterburner and MSi Kombustor, raise the Core and Memory clocks 10 MHz up at a time until it starts artifacting, then raise the voltage up abit and keep going, all the while watch your temperatures.

I am running on fans from the Antec Chassis itself, and pretty much to cool down pretty nicely.
What I really want is it get my PC to overclock to a certain decent and safe level where the temp is pretty nicely maintained.
So far I tried my Core Clock for my GPU at 900MHz and about thats it.
