New gaming headset/headphones [$50]

Thread Starter
Hi,

I need some help with searching a new pair of headphones, my budget is 50$ and less. This will be my first headset, at the moment i'm using 2.0 Labtec speakers.

Well, I did some research and I found the Plantronics GameCom 377, the Creative Tactic3D Alpha and the Creative Fatal1ty Headset.
But I don't really need a mic, and I looked around here and see a lot of people recommending normal headphones and a Zalman clip-on Mic.

I will use the headphones/headset for FPS, racing games and music (hiphop and a bit Rock) so I "need" good bass.

What would you guys recommend?

PS, sorry for my bad english, I'm dutch

I recommend the JVC HA-RX700. Great for music and works splendidly as a gaming headphone.

Bass isn't the best, but if you're looking for a dynamic headphone, I'd personally go with those.

Thanks, I can´t find them in a store in my country, but maybe I can import it. I will wait for other suggestions

Forogt to ask, but I only have onboard audio, but will that limit the sound quality at this price level?

I have a set of Plantronics 367's which are similar to the 377 except from what i understand the 377's are open ear and the 367's are closed but i don't know if there is any other differences.

Anyway i find them to feel really well made which in turn aids making them comfortable, Also the sound quality is pretty good on games. i also tested hip-hop, rock, metal and popular music finding them to have a good bass and although it was noticeable you only noticed it in between everything rather than over everything else.

Can't comment on any of the other headphones as i've not used them so they may be better or worse??

the gamecom is good for games but is only ok in other aspects. If you can use iems(earbuds) you can get some solid performance for 50

I have a clip on Zalman mic, and it is a POS, turned up to its highest volume it is still nearly inaudible.

Personally would recommend a desktop mic or such.

I tested a headphone at a friend and I tried earbuds too, but I don't like earbuds for gaming, headphones sounds better.

Looks like nice headphones but the shipping makes it twice the price for me.

Well, I'm thinking of choosing between the Sennheiser HD 202 II and the plantronics 377. I don't really care about the mic, It's just for gaming and a little bit music/movies.

Wich one should I choose?

If the JVC HA-RX700 was available in my country I probably would buy them but the shipping costs are too high
