Thread Starter
As our current family laptop is getting old, we are purchasing a new one. Do you guys know any laptops that fit my below specifications? I looked in many companies (hp, Dell, and Sony) and did not find the laptop I was looking for. Thanks!

-Windows 7 (obviously) Home Premium
-i7 quad core
-Ability for 6 GB+ of RAM
-ALUMINUM CASE!!!
-Screen can be any size
-Under $1,500

If you want a non plastic computer with windows you can get the HP envy which i believe is magnesium not aluminum with a plastic base.

The Sony Vaio Z is aluminum (not completely) but thats around $1.8K to $2K

There might be a few others but nothing thats completely aluminum like a macbook pro. The closest you can get is the HP envy which is a nice laptop.

The HP is aluminum.

Any Envy Series, or DVxT Select from HP have aluminum body. I hate the trackpad with a passion.

MSI GX640 barebone has a metal casing, same for the Sony Vaio Z series, but its quite costly.

Dell Latitude E6xxx / Adamo(both don't have i7 quad)
HP Elitebook series

For sony, $1500 budget won't bring you the model you like. Personally I don't like envy. They look like a mac but are way behind wrt building quality.
