Interesting... Didn't know most webcams could record in 3D. I'll be sure to make a note of this later.

If you had 2 webcams and the right software, you can record in 3d.

what about latency? I dont have much personal experience but so far from my personal perspective accuracy wont mean much when doing something and actualy seeing a delayed response, can improved accuracy even be beneficial under these circumstances? Yh it will open up to more games like 'cough' cooking mamma... But meh.

Im talkin dribble. I have no idea if this is a dev issue or kinect itself

Offtopic, whats with all the people saying USB3 isn't needed, and its bandwidth won't be used? Everytime I copy to and from my usb, I wish I had 3.0, its a desperately needed upgrade.

I see what you did there. It is still a rip off. IT is only worth $56 according to this...

3.0 isn't really needed yet, some company needs to start pushing it.
Say that to the potential slew of HD webcams that'd use just over 30MB/s (USB2's real limit most of the time), external HDDs, video recorders, etc.

They all need over 30MB/s to function and it's either just go to USB3 or include enough USB2 controllers to give each port full speed. (i.e. Not going to happen and still limiting everything else)

Ok, here's one for you:

1) Why did it cost $56 to make?

Because that's how much the components cost.

2) Why did the components cost $56?

Because that's how much the component manufacturers want to sell them for.

And we're back at 1). Keep going and you'll end up at the price of food.

Everything has an arbitrary price. The price you pay for what you buy is essentially how much the seller/manufacturer wants to sell it for + taxes. Just because something cost much less than it's retail price to produce in raw materials doesn't necessarily make it a rip off.

This is great, because right now I'm getting a lot of moves 'wrong' in Dance Central when I should be getting them right.
