Suggestion for new budget i7 build

Thread Starter
Hey everyone I want to upgrade to an budget i7 system. The configuration in my mind is

core i7 950 (that's almost locked)
Corsair 2X4096 MB Vengeance 1600 MHz (is this good and supported with i7 950, any other suggestion, what are the performance difference as compared to Dominator)
ASUS P7P55-LX Board (Is this board good, a good overclocker, any other suggestion beside that)
Corsair TX950-950 Watt power supply (I plan to CF in future, is it kind of overkill? what are performance advantages of Modular over non-modular, if any)

I already have a 4890, so I don't feel upgrading now....

p.s. I wont be upgrading any sooner than 2 years except CF.

Thanks in advance, any replies are appreciated.

Regards.

Hi there, you cant put a i7-950 and that board together but you could use this i7-870 with the board you are wanting.
950 is 1366 socket the board you picked is 1156
pick a 1156 cpu or a more expensive motherboard.

Hey! Thanks guys for your replies......

I searched on sandy bridge and they seem quite promising to me.... Tell me if there would a substantial difference if I wait for sandy bridge, and get a sandy bridge processor same price as i7 950......

Still no comments on Power Supply....
