How are you using it? Where do you notice the differences?

No

And if you wanna bench get a Celeron and get LN2 and see if you can get 6 Ghz +. Why bench with super expensive gear when you can also do it with cheap stuff that is replacable if it breaks down. And if you wanna bench without LN2 and voltmods its not benching its watching numbers on your monitor.

Long answer: no. Especially for benching.
To post above: he doesnt he just wants to justify spending 1000 dollars on a CPU so he will come up with something.

gaming wont benefit at all from more threads.

the 950 is plenty of power for pretty much anything. i would go for a GPU upgrade if i wanted to drop that kind of money on my comp and i already had the 950. 1 5870 and a 980x isnt a good match up, lacks GPU power and you wont be able to use your CPU to its potential. definately go for a GTX 580 (or 2??) or 2x GTX570s or 69xx cards. the 950 and 2 high end cards will be the best gaming situation.

as far as the other programs you use, the 950 w/ HT is plenty fast

I had a 980x a while back, aside from a lower Vantage score, nothing really changed when I "downgraded" to the Xeon. I'd say, for the price, skip it.

The 980X is much, much, better and you will most definitely notice the difference! it is the best non server processor available and Sandy Bridge, with its new releases in a month or so, will still be inferior(until EP). I previously owned a 920 and 950 and they were no match. Keep in mind that I utilize a lot of Cad applications.

Remember that sandy bridge mainstream releases will be superior to all current I7's except gulftown (970,980x).
