Hi folks. Between these options, which card is the best choice. I don't have a pc atm, so i can't spend too much money on a GPU alone, tough i would if it is worth the price. I only own a 17" monitor @1600X1200 resolution (the native res is 1280x1024). Cpu+MB recommendations would be welcome as well, thanks.

EDit:Wow, some mods please correct the poll question, thanks.

it depends on how much you want to spend, if you play very demanding games, etc...

as the graphic card, i would always stick with the latest tech. 570 or 580!!

Out of those, 570. It's as fast as a 480 without the price tag, heat, or noise.

As said above, how often you game and how important graphics are to you are the most important factors in this decision. That info will play a huge role in deciding what is best for your rig.

Does the 480 produce too much heat and noise?

its hot, hotter than 570. and all high end graphic cards are quite loud when fully loaded.

thats why ppl spend their good money on after market cooler or watercooling.

Go check any review. It's basically the loudest card you can buy.

Yeah, the GTX480 is quite loud. doesn't bother me too much, seeing as I don't have my computer too close to me, but it definitely can irritate some.

As said above, how often you game and how important graphics are to you are the most important factors in this decision. That info will play a huge role in deciding what is best for your rig.

But yeah, as said by many others, the 570 is the most well rounded choice above. It's powerful enough to handle most if not all of what you throw at it, coming just barely below the 480 from what I've read, is less expensive, and runs more coolly/quietly than the 480.
