How TF2 has changed over the years - Page 3

I think one of the things that makes tf2 so attractive for people is that the game is so different from other fps games, so why is the fact that people can dress up their characters a bad thing?

I mean, I think the demo sunglasses are annoying to look at too, but not after I shoot them off his face.

Ya, the reason I stopped playing CSS is because it was the same maps, the same weapons, the same death as soon as you turn a corner to some skilled dude/aimbotter. The TF2 updates keep it interesting and fresh, with new things to try out. And the weapons in TF2 are still more balanced than "AWP kills everything". Ya, it has been going downhill a bit, but I bet they will put more into rebalancing after this last huge update.

Really? As high as a game like Counter Strike, Quake, or TFC? TF2 doesn't have as small hit boxes as those games that I mentioned and it doesn't reward players nearly as much as those games that I mentioned for having good aim. TF2 guns dont even have any recoil besides maybe 1 or two guns.....Look at the heavy for example, his main gun has no recoil, the spray pattern is completely random, how could you get amazing with the heavy shot wise when there's nothing to improve on? Not to mention that there's no nades in TF2 the last time that I checked, headshots aren't rewarded unless you're a sniper the last time that I checked, no bhopping, I could go on and on.

lolno. Although I disagree that all the new additions have ruined the game, I can understand how people dislike them. However, that is a ridiculous claim to say that it has been terrible since launch.

If the sole purpose of your post was to say "I don't like TF2, so a mod should close this thread", I'm not really sure what to say to you besides get out.

I got kind of tired of the constant updates/releases such as the holiday releases where the map is only useful for about a week. I stopped updating TF2 a couple months ago and I am now about 1GB worth of updates behind, seems a little ridiculous for only not updating for a couple months.

Well they made me loose a lot of my interest once I start joining games and people have all these weapons I don't have and then I begin to feel like I have to buy the items to keep up with how fast they are coming out.

Valves not even making weapons to offer different play styles, they make weapons just to make weapons. Most of the weapons just do something like: +10% clip size, -10% damage and a lot of them seem far from balanced.

Aim is not the only test of skill. In TF2, which is a class based shooter, strategy, positioning, and understanding the advantages and disadvantages of the different classes are other things to take into account besides simple aim. You are correct that a heavy can't improve aim, especially at long distances. But that is the point, if you are in a position where the spread of the heavy's minigun is not accurate enough then you are the wrong class for that situation or you are in the wrong place for playing heavy. There is a lot more to the game than simply aiming and shooting and dealing with recoil.

This I agree on. This last update felt like it was just churned out to make money, hence the steep price to craft the weapons. Thankfully I saved up metal and crafted them, but I can see how this would be annoying to all the new people or people that didn't save up metal. I loved all the old updates, but now they just want money. I hope they change around the stats and focus on the game now. They seem to listen to the community, so I can certainly see them doing this. The forums demanded a Christmas update, so we got one. They disliked set hats, so they didn't use them anymore. Now everyone is complaining about the lack of gameplay focus, so I see them fixing it up a bit in the future. For me, this is the line where they could either still make the game good, or keep chasing the dollar and end up ruining a great game. I still like it as of now, but that may change in the future.
