Hey all,

I've got a pair of GTX460s currently in my mATX case, and I have been pondering switching to a Watercooled set up. My current questions whether it would be worth getting a single GTX580 or sticking with my 460s?

Argument for the 580: The 580 would provide me with relatively comparable graphics power, but in a single slot, allowing me to use my other PCI slots. Also, I would only need a single water-block, set of power cords, etc, helping me keep my case neat (and saving a bit of money). Finally, it'd leave me with a lot of space to expand in the future, dropping in a second card.

Argument for the 460s: Simply, I have them already, and its a lot less hassle. Also, they are a little bit faster, and they fit my needs really well. They are fantastic cards, and I don't really foresee the need for a second card in the next year. Waterblocks would make them a lot smaller, and maybe give me enough space to expand. Cheaper.
My mATX!

Yeah i would get the 580 if you could afford it, and put one of the 460's in(even on air if you dont want blocks etc) as a dedicated physX card.

In your case I would get rid of the 460's (both of them) and get a single 580. Less heat, less clutter, more room/space, easier H2O install, and similar performance.

You already own the 460s and they're faster. No reason to jump ship.

Very expensive move imo, for little or no performance gain. You're good until next gen at least.

Stick with the GTX 460s and overclock the hell out of them

its expensive yes, but if the cards are in great shape he can knock quite a bit of money off the price of a 580 by selling 1 or both of them, makes it a lot more obtainable to save himself some power and have better options for expansion in the future.

but at the same time, 2 460s overclocked is a nice little monster in itself so if you already have them, waiting for the 6xx series that should probably be out summer-winter of 2011 isnt that bad of a wait.
