EVGA is refusing to acknowledge my rebate

Thread Starter
I keep promising myself that I hate rebates and I'll never try again because I always get lied to, but every year or so a deal comes up that's too good not to risk. Well, I grabbed on and was bitten.

I bought on Newegg an EVGA X58 motherboard & PCIe USB 3.0 card combo for $120 and $80 after two rebates, $30 and $10. Like a rebate denying robot, right on cue, they sent me a message saying some BS about a form not being signed so that they don't have to send me any money. Just now, I got this email, edited here to remove some info I don't want to post online.

Dear Radomir Jordanovic,

Your Rebate was not approved for the following reason(s)
- Signed Rebate Form is missing

Our decision to not approve your rebate claim was based upon examination of the documents that we received from you.

3 - Include any missing documentation and/or information that we have listed above as the reason(s) for your claim being denied.
4 - Send your printed rebate along with all required documentation to the PO Box address indicated on the rebate application. For your convenience the rebate application contains a mailing label with the preprinted address.
5 - In order for your claim to be re-considered, you must to re-apply within 30 days from the date that your original rebate application was declined.

That's where I am right now. So, what do you think? Can this get anywhere? I really would appreciate the forum's help in getting this rebate, if you guys wouldn't mind.

Thanks!

This never happened to me before, and it sucks that it happened to you.

What I can do is call them and demand the rebate, keep doing until they do.

Even if it wasn't signed, they should at least return UPC and forum to you.

I hate this. They simply made up that there was no signed form, and now they feel they don't need to send me money. The last time I tried something like this was with Tiger Direct, and they sent me back almost exactly the same email stating that there was no signed form. I've since bought nothing from TD, and I've stopped double digits of people from ever shopping there again. I even called and told them about it, but still no progress was made. You have to fight it somehow, though.

Come monday morning, call them instead. You will have better luck with talking to someone, rather than emailing some random dude.

When I do rebates, I record myself filling out everything. If you completed it property and they keep denying it, ask them "how do I sue you?" get legal with them, and they will budge real quick. It's total fraud. Best of luck.

First off, did you make copies of everything? Second that is not the way to reply to an email requesting more information. Call them, meaning get on the phone until you speak to a person and find out what form you need. Sign it, scan it and email it to them. I have had one rebate denied in my life and it was Systemax (owns Tigerdirect), I called everyone at Tigerdirect and then started with the VPs at Systemax until I got my money (which I did). Oddly enough they just settled a class action lawsuit about rebates... I will not buy a single product from a company owned by systemax to this day.

so what about this do you not understand:

unfortunately you are not eligible to re-apply.
You can re-apply, jst do it.

Do you have a copy of your signed rebate form? Just re send it. (You did make a copy of everything, right).
rebate companies don't just Make stff up. I have done well over 100 rebates and gotten every single one of them. Some have required follow up, and a2-3 have required me sending in copies of my stuff, bt never have I been denied.

Also, edit your rebate link in your quote, I can get all your personal info from it.

Thanks for the persuasion to call them! I feel like I might just get this rebate.

Geglamash, do you mean you video-record yourself doing the rebates? That's awesome! It really just goes to show just how badly in need of many more lawsuits the rebate industry has become.

aleiro, I made copies but can't find much right now. There are lots of papers, and I'll keep looking. This isn't a good start, but I hope still that I can find the copies and use them as I need to. I agree that the reply wasn't too good, but I hoped that any immediate reply is better than a delayed response. Also, are you saying I should get a new form and sign that, and they should honor it? And I completely agree about Systemax being useless. I've never liked them, and I am so glad they own TD.
