G31M-ES2L + E5200 Combo Overclock

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I need help overclocking my E5200 chip. As the title says, I'm using a Gigabyte G31M-ES2L motherboard. I'm currently running at 300*12.5=3750MHz stable. But I can't seem to get it to even post past that frequency. My voltage is at 1.4V and my system memory multiplier is at 2.66 which is the lowest of my board. My DDR2 is at 2.1V and I'm using a piece of 2GB Kingmax DDR2 800MHz dimm. My FSB Overvoltage Control is set to +0.2V. I just wanna know if there is any way I can raise the clock speed even higher. Any of you guys free, care to drop in a message and help me out here please..(:

That's probably the highest you'll get with that mobo. I have that same mobo with a overclocked Intel Wolfdale E6300@3.6ghz. Just my

that board is good for 460FSB on a dualcore conroe, 430FSB with a Q8300 (333 bus). overclocking options are crap but i just use Easytune and set in the bios the FSB to +.3 and did the rest in windows. occasionally setting BIOS to known good settings from easytune. but you can't set timings, so you have whatever timings you get from BIOS into windows where you change the RAM frequency and maintain the timings, as you stray higher on frequency, better timings could make you crash easier, which is what takes a lot of trial and error as to 'what RAM MHz = what default timings from the board' which is something i really just today had discovered when fooling with my q6600 -before i shorted the board and blew a pair of VRMs LOL

the ethernet shuts off above 440FSB though, so keep in mind for PCMark lol

Actually, you can change the RAM timings on this board lol.. After you entered the bios, click ctrl + F1, then you enter the M.I.T and the timing settings are there.

well i havn't clocked with the board since november where I was just maxing FSB with the E6300 for what the board could handle without playing with timings (didn't care really, just clocking for benchmarks and i wasn't gonna pass enough people for it to be more than .1pts on the bot if i just changed timings lol)
