Haha no problem, I'm just messing with you. Everyone's got their own take on it- you went 480, I went 360 + 240, and CoolBreeze has a 240 on its side down there. It's a really good place for a rad, I'm surprised more people haven't done it. Thanks for stopping by! I'm keeping an eye on your log for updates biggrin.gif

You're following me again!! No, no updates yet, I need to go back and see where I'm at with the pictures in this thread but I think I'm up to date... Ordering some GTs in the group buy, so I'll be switching those in at some point... Otherwise I think it's pretty well buttoned up for now Feel free to comment away though!

Edit: I will be doing the RPM sensor mod on my D5s shortly though and will post pics of that when I do.

Nice work!
Just curious, how much time do you usually need to put into a complex mod like this?
(Edit: I guess mileage may vary for me it would probably be like 5x lol)

I did most of this over the course of a week or so, I'd say in the neighborhood of 30-40 hours from the time I tore it down to where I'm at now(?) I didn't keep a good record of the time, as I had thought I might, but I'd say that's a good estimate. I spent countless hours staring and measuring and thinking before I bought the parts and broke out the tools, but I'm not counting that in the 'build' time It's definitely a labor of love, I like to have my computer running, and it primarily folds these days, though it's soon going to get more CAD usage, but the big draw for me is the tinkering and modding and hands-on part. I grew up with Legos, what can I say haha.

I've had a bit of practice, my first WC loop was a 240+120+D5 loop cooling the CPU and GPU and I squeezed all of that internally in a stock Antec 900, but that gave me the bug and about a year later I pulled the trigger on the 800D and never looked back, it's always a new adventure. I've messed with dual loops, single loops, stacked rads and various configurations, it's rarely more than a month or two that I go without tearing into some aspect of the case, but maybe for now I'll let it rest. Maybe My 775 still gets the job done for me, so I think the next upgrade is an SSD, I'm eyeing a new hardware purchase around my birthday (August) or Christmas. We'll see what happens, but summer is coming, so I may get into the cooling first I've got a few (9) GT-29s coming from the group-buy so that will be the next change... But stay tuned, this will definitely be updated now and then! Thanks for stopping by!

Yeah, I figured at the barebones price and the purported benefits I might as well. If they're not what I wanted, then I can try selling them off later.

The GT's are amazing fans. VERY high quality.

Salt can you use sketchup? Do you have access or have autocad?
