Help me overclock athlon 2 X2 240 - Page 2

ht should be around 2000 at all times, never higher. my 240 did about 3.7-3.8 i think bout it took 1.6v, with better cooler. you should not expect this with stock cooler and it's not good for the cpu. lowering the cpu multiplier to 12 or 13 gets you much higher oc than the 14. but the best method is trial and error by changing one thing at a time.

here are mine. not the best but still something for reference.

a HX 650 watt is pretty beast brother, can handle 2x 6870s and a OCed CPU with ease!
apparantly the max temp is 74C, but i whould aim for about 60C, to give some headroom for hot days, and CPU wear and tear. once it hits about 60-65C, that means that's your max voltage on that cooler!
if your picking up a corsair PSU, i whould pick up a cheap CPU cooler, eg a 20 dollar CoolerMaster Hyper 212+

Hello. I have the 245 model and Im now running 3.6Ghz on stock.
My memory also increased with the fsb from 400mhz to 496mhz and I can still boot and run prime for 6 hours (can't run any longer than this because my father is going to be angry with the power bill).
