Based on those games the 6970 is the best bet. Think both cards are awesome. Amd just can't make a driver to save its life.

Well the monitor i was going to use was my 27" iMac at 2560x1440, I don't mind getting a 23" 1080p monitor. If I did that and got a gtx 570 would that be a better option or should I stick with the 6970 and my 27" monitor?

If you already have the 27" display please just use it. No reason buying another monitor. I really only pushed you to explore the 570 because i've had issues with Amd drivers. Quite frankly they suck which is why i went from 6870 Crossfire to a single 570.

Yeah, that asus one has:

"Factory overclocked to perform at 890MHz, 10MHz higher than stock performance.
50% faster with ASUS exclusive Voltage Tweak.
Full aluminum cover dissipate surface heat evenly and rapidly."

That's why I want the asus one over all the rest of them, but of course they're out of stock.

What? Is something wrong with your iMac? Why would you choose a 23" monitor over a quality 27" monitor that you already own? With that monitor, I'd get the 6970.

Went to 2 different Frys last week to get my 580 and asked about the 6970. They either had no idea what I was talking about or they said in about a week they should arrive. I'm not sure how reliable that is since they have been wrong in the past from my experiences.
