CF 6850's the new CF 5770's?

I'm looking to upgrade from my 4850 since its been artifacting and blue screening on pretty much every game I play. My PSU only has 2 PCI-E connectors so would 2x 6850's be my best choice or would a 6950/70 do better? I have no plans on Crossfiring 2 69's even though I will be building a new rig in the future.

I'd stick to single card, is one of the pci-e power connector 6+2? or just 6? if it's just 6, go with 6950. These cards do come with molex adapters but everyone would recommend you not to use them.

just 6 for both I think. I do however want to upgrade as quickly as possible. I will have to wait about 2 more paychecks for the 6950/70.

I've also been looking at some used 5870's in the market place here. How do two 6850's compare to a 5870?

Thx, and out of curiosity, had you considered the 570 at $360 as an option?

buy it, play with it and you wont look back.

Only problem that i have encountered with my 6850's is overclocking. AB crashes my system, trixx freezes my system, CCC overdrive only gets me to 850/1200. I haven't tried rivatuner yet, but im doubtful that they'll work.

On stock clocks, these cards are amazing. Just imagine once they can properly overclock
