Logitech Illuminated vs K800

Thread Starter
I currently have the Logitech Illuminated and i was wondering how the K800 would compare. Does anyone have both keyboards and tell me if it's worth moving over from the Illuminated to K800?

Thanks.

Same question, but seem that no one has tried both.

Also an illuminated owner, the k800 looks awesome, would be great for a htpc as long as battery life is reasonable, i wouldnt move unless you need to use it away from the desk like on your sofa or whatever, seems like a sweet keyboard though

I'm more concerned about the tactile feeling, and I'm ineterested in both becouse somonw has compared the illuminated to the Thinkpad keyboards (which are the best for a notebook), the two keyboard should share the same technology but I read somewhere that the k800 is somewhat softer (and I like a precise feedback).

The key shape is also different and this can change a lot on the typing pleasure side.

That said I understand that is difficult to have a good opinion on so personal matter, for an example I read (even here) that the MS X6 is considered a good keyboard, I have it and is absolutely the crappiest keyboard I ever touched: good design, handy controls, useful volume knob, the red/orange backlit is waaaay better than any "trendy" blue, but the typing experience is non existent, any 5€ KB is better.

If you need wireless and you need illuminated keys, I'm really not aware of any other alternative.

However, as the owner of both keyboards, I by far prefer the feel of the (wired) illuminated keyboard. The strokes feel a lot crisper, lighter, and smooth, and the K800 feels more stiff and rough and wasn't nearly as fluid as it's wired counterpart. They apparently both use the same "perfect stroke" system which is probably 99% marketing, but the two keyboards still have a completely different feel. I found myself going back to the wired illuminated keyboard almost immediately. That's only my take on it though.

Ok, tank you.

That's exactly what I wanted to know.

So my concerns about the wireless version are correct.
