Sorry for taking so long to reply, i am having major broadband problems.

Anyway, the ram i have is DDR2 800MHz, if i buy the 965 chip and run it on an AM3 motherboard will that work?

Thanks for all the replies. That motherboard looks quite good and a reasonable price. Does anyone know what the molex socket is for on the biostar motherboard?

i was on the understanding that bulldozer is AM3+ and is not backwards compatible with AM3, no....?

no you cant use DDR2 on an AM3 board, you will either have to buy an AM2+ board or buy DDR3 memory

Does that mean we wont be able to upgrade to DDR3 RAM on an AM2+ Motherboard?

VAT goes to the goverment i.e IRS - And in UK (HM IRS) some of it is then put into the EU budget

These will go up next year (January) due to the vat rising to 20%, but the website states the prices on the site with vat so it should be updated automatically.
You're a bit behind the times, VAT is 17.5% it was only reduced to 15% temporarily to boost the economy.

VAT is Value Added Tax, which simply is just yet another tax. It's paid on "supposed" luxury items, whilst not on essentials like some foods and clothing. In reality, food designations make no sense, and you have to pay vat on things like fuel, which in this life time is hardly a "luxury", especially if you live in a rural area with no public transport, not to mention heating, in a cold country.

The real use of it in government terms is that they can sting everyone with it, unlike income tax which affects the higher paid more. Whether you earn £60 a week or £2000 you've still got to eat, and you still get cold.

So what is the difference between AM2, AM2+ and AM3?

I'm guessing it supports newer CPU's and the DDR3 RAM in AM3?

I'm off to bed now, so i will check in the morning.
