I was just joking, i thought you going in to one about how our country pays xyz into Europe and we shouldn't. Point is, where the money ends up is irelevent (and obvious, its a tax!!!), Jean Luc was asking what vat is. If you had to read about VAT on the net, can i take it your quite young? Either way, don't take forums too seriously, and definately not to heart.

To simplify, VAT is a tax on the poor.

400 budget and you suggest a $300 GPU? I suppose he could get a P3 and MB with the budget he has left

Seriously though, a 460 or 6850 would be more in line if it can fit into the budget, which may still be tough depending on what CPU/MB you go with.

I'm off to bed now, so i will check in the morning.
Not much really just that AM3 is DDR3 which in my opinion not really a big deal, i tried my 965 in an AM2+ with XMS2 DDR2 and in an AM3 with DDR3 dominator and cant say i really noticed a difference in terms of performance unless (Intel/Tripple Channel), not sure what others would say to that.....

Also my AM2+ Motherboard supports every single AM3 CPU to date.

From what people have said my guess is that VAT is sales tax on certain items. 20% is nuts though LOL. We have 9.75% sales tax here in California and when some of my cousins visit they flip out because tax is around 5% where they live. When I think about it we Americans are pretty damn lucky when it comes to sales tax, for instance if I buy something online from a different state, I don't have to pay tax and even if I did, tax is low compared to many other countries, as previously stated 15% now going to 20% for VAT and even around 20% in some parts of Canada.

if you would like an Asus motherboard there would be a couple you could look out for on Ebay etc, if you want an ATI/AMD chipset you could look for the Asus M3A32 or the M3A79 or if you want an Nvidia Chipset board you could look for the Asus M4N82 or the M3N-HT, personally i own the M3A32 and that supports every AM3 prcocessor to date, it has quad crossfire and it is DDR2, however all the boards i have listed support AM3 processors and DDR2 memory, all of these are regulars on Ebay at the moment due to people upgrading to DDR3 motherboards.

Its a shame i cant buy the ASUS M3A32 new otherwise i would probably go for that.

Sorry for asking all these nooby questions. But what would i be better off doing, going for an Nvidia or AMD Chipset?
