WOW Install Question

so now that cataclysm is out, and i dont really have any games to play right now, I decided to get back into WOW (dont ask lol)

So, my question is, I have all the game discs (like 12 or whatever it is) for the original wow, burning crusade, and wotlk...do I really need to sit there and install all the discs and then the ones for cataclysm too? Or is there a quicker way to do it?

When I logged into my battle.net account, I see that there is a download for the game client...can i just download that and then install cataclysm??

If you have already payed for Cata, it will install everything from Battle.net

No, I would suggest you install Cataclysm from their Installer. You do not need to install the previous versions for this. I have just did a fresh reinstall, and this installer will include all the previous patches, but in a smaller format. My old WoW folder was 30GB, and the fresh install was 22GB. So they must have made the newer one more efficient.
Just go to their website, and if you already purchased Cataclysm, download the installer, then put your activation keys for all games (unless already active).

Personally I'd install from disks.
Then you'll only have to download 2 or 4 GB instead of like 8-12..

This is the best time to start WoW ever. since 2005. YES! It is 110% the prefect time for a new player to get into WoW. Cata makes WoW more mainstream, easier to navigate, and UI easier for newer players to adjust. So yes, go for it!biggrin.gif

They just redid the entire game basically, so yes, it would be a good time.

So what do I need to do ? Purchase the new release from a store or can it be had via Battlenet (I play SC2 so I am familiar with the platform) ?
