GTX 570 EVGA vs Gigabyte - Page 2

Cause there cheaper and i can bench my 470s higher then 570s pretty easy...

Because they are basicly the same gpu.......

Ive told you when clocked to the same clocks.... Because the 570 is factory overclocked...

there is only a 3%=10% performance jump Between the 470 and 570....

This is where this is really funny.........

The 600 series is due 2011.... It is advertised to be 300% = 400% Faster then the 500 Series..
Run cooler and use less energy.. And be a smaller gpu...

SO Anybody who is paying a premium For the 500 Series.... Is a very uninformed Individual...

And those Suggesting it as well....

The 500 series was released for marketing vs the AMD 6000 series..

Both good cards, but why not buy the card with the lifetime warranty as opposed to only 3 years?
because evga is an awsome compony with excelent service, and good cards why would you pick the gigabtye over that?

also sc only means it comes factory oc'ed

And at the same clocks... the 500 series is only between 3% and 10% Faster then it's 400 series counter part.. Depending on what game or bench you are running.

500 series and 400 series share the same gpu the 500 series has just been tweaked and overclocked to get more out of it..

Was Nvidia's marketing to combat the the 6000 series amd gpus...
It Also made the 500 series what the 400 series was promised to be..

I can step up my 470s... i dont.. Because i know it is not worth it...
People will try to Stress the issue of heat...

Heat issues are 2 causes.. 1 noobs... you must have correct Airflow for a powerful gpu if on air...
2 People just have bad cards.. It happens alot..

Here is a pic of my 470s idleing.. 1 equal and 1 lower then the 570..

Here is my 470s maxxed out in Black ops... Notice the temps..

Right now the best Idea is to get what is best on your wallet.. With Kepler aka 600 series offering huge performance jumps and not very far away.
used 470s can be found from 180$ to 210$..
480s can be found for 280$ to 310$ all over...

Keep the money in your wallet for the 600 Series and you will not regret it...
When 1 gtx 680 IS benching the same as about 3 gtx 580s..

My 8800 GT's were EVGA. One of them had a capacitor pop off and if memory serves they actually sent me a box in the mail to put it in, and I had the replacement in less than a week. Can't speak for Gigabyte other than MANY years ago their boards had bad caps (I hear that is not a problem now). I've heard good things about Gigabyte although their long ago bad reputation still hurts them today.

Most companies are not nearly as good to customers as EVGA. For instance, XFX was the exact opposite of EVGA. They took about two months to RMA a 9800 GTX+ and when my 680i LT SLI motherboard died they repeatedly sent me back dead motherboards as replacements until the warranty expired. Not bull$#!+ing you. The manager of a local computer repair shop is a witness to this. They also insulted me repeatedly during RMA tickets.

You can't go wrong with EVGA, I don't see why you would choose another brand unless you just can't afford it. That is the boat I'm in; I'm running a Palit card and hoping it won't die on me because their RMA process consists of me walking up the stairs of a tall building with the card and jumping out of a window.

.
The GPU of the GTX580 and the GTX480 have a different number of transistors, a different die-size, a different number of SMs, they draw different levels of electricity, etc.

Like you, I was not at first impressed with the performance of the GTX580 over the GTX480. I thought it seemed like exactly the same card. My 480 was overclocked to GTX 580 stock speeds anyway. Then I turned the anti-aliasing up on several games and that is when I noticed it; there is significantly less penalty on the GTX580 with AA, than the GTX480. When using higher resolutions, this does make a difference and is a value.

Naturally, in a press conference the CEO of Nvidia is going to promise that his next GPU will be ungodly powerful, just like he promised with every other generation of video card. This is called persuading investors.

They will be more powerful, no doubt. Is it reasonable to expect them to be three or four times as powerful? That I am not sure of. The GTX 580 of 2010 isn't three or four times times as powerful as the GTX 295 of 2009 is it? Also by this reasoning, there would be no reason to wait for the GTX600, as he would then just need to wait for the GTX700, or the GTX800.

...also, doesn't EVGA have a step-up program?

Yeah but WHEN in 2011. In November/December like the 500 launch?

BOTH GPU manufacturers will do that. 7000 series will hit shelves around the same time, I promise.

But all this claim about Kepler being the next coming of Jesus doesn't seem very plausible. I'd love to see the day when either company makes a card that can pull a min framerate of 75fps in Heaven. Sure it will happen. But I don't think a single GPU Kepler or HD7000 series will do it.

I just don't think all these claims of UBER performance will happen.

This is when they will begin putting cloned baboon brains inside of the video cards, making the cards cybernetic organisms.
