Awesome, time for some upgrades. May I humbly suggest a 30" IPS panel?

I thought about that...I really did. It came down to that, or a DSLR and I chose the camera. Guess I'll have to try to win another one to get that monitor.

I've driven fast cars in real life, and I've driven at speeds most people would crap their pants at (I've damaged 2 engines at speeds of 165+). So for sims, it's probably a lack of all of the real sensory inputs, mostly the various g forces, and my perception of grip.

I've also raced LOTS of racing games, my favorite to this day are Gran Turismo 1 and 2. They "felt" the most real to me. And I was REALLY fast at those, to the point where the replay couldn't even keep up to how fast I went. It would try to recreate what I did, and couldn't, would crash into a wall and then kept on trying to recreate my inputs throughout the rest of the race. It was rather strange to see the car keep slamming in to the wall over and over again. So I've got how to use a controller for racing games down pat as well.

Maybe I'll give iRacing a go.

Payouts for the first year were $10,000 for 1st, $3,000 for 2nd, and $1,000 for 3rd. I'm thinking this year's will be equal or more, especially on the oval side since NASCAR is running the series.

You have to qualify in through the Pro Series for the DWC though, so not everyone can compete right away.

There's also several private leagues you can try to join that pay various amounts to win.

I also talked to Landon the other day and he's thinking about doing 3 or 4 of these qualifying tournaments a year.
Well that is interesting. And who says you can't make money playing video games.

Yeah, it takes a bit of getting used to because the only tools you have to understand what the car is doing are sight, sound, and a steering wheel that has a couple of rather weak motors in it.

The game feels really, really good at about 98% of the limit, which is all most people ever get to, if that. The last 2% needs a bit of work in some cars, mainly the fast oval cars, which is their area of focus right now with the development of a new tire model.
