Nvidia 3D Glasses

Thread Starter
So, I just got my home threater room finished and decided to hook my sig rig up for the giggles. I instantly became hooked. I have a Samsung 55" 3D LED TV with he glasses. My question is do I need nvidias glasses to use the 3D drivers or will samsungs work since they are both active shutter glasses?

I don't know for sure but would guess that they are the same and it should work, give it a go and let us know.

If you want to use nVidia 3d Vision you have to use their glasses with their receiver.

You can look into ATI 3D, works with your usual stock glasses that came with the TV, its not easy nor fun to setup tho. (you have to use 3rd party 3D software, which is also not free, namely iZ3D, or DDD TriDef 3D)

What you can try, but I do not know for a fact if it works, is trying either iZ3D or DDD TriDef with an nVidia card, it should work and give you working 3D with your glasses that came with the TV, the software is free for 30 days (both software), but it really is a pain to set up.

well it turns out the drivers now welcome 3d tvs with the tv's glasses, BUT you need HDMI 1.4. Why do need hdmi 1.4 for Nvidia 3d, but 1.3 for other 3d items.

Actually:

You need HDMI 1.4a for nVidia 3DTV Play, which would let you use 3D with your TV glasses, but you can do nVidia 3D Vision with nVidia glasses and receiver through any HDMI or dual-link DVI.

ATI can do 3D ONLY through 1.4a
