Slight Upgrade Help!

Thread Starter
I am looking for a small upgrade so for the price I figured I would look at AMD chips. What would be a good chip and mobo that would let me keep my DDR2 memory for now until I can get the money to do a big upgrade of the whole system?

Edit: I would like to go as cheap as possible as it's x-mas time and all. So maybe around $150???

Would there be that much more performance from the x3 than the 555 x2 3.2GHz?

Be careful of the motherboard you choose, if you ever plan to unlock then you must choose a motherboard with 8+2 power phase/mosfet heatsinks as your unlocked CPU will consume 125W or more. Unfortunately this may put you over budget.

Why don't you just try to OC with what you have now and save for later when it'll really count. Prices will fall as new releases become available.
