Water pump questions

I recently purchased a XSPC rasa/750/RX360 kit. Very impressed the fast delivery from Jab-tech and also impressed with the performance right out of the box.

I have a MCP350 pump with an EK top installed that I bought locally before buying the XSPC kit. I would like to know if there would be any advantage/disadvantage to either:

1. Running the 350 in series along with the XSPC 750 pump
2. Running the 350 instead of the XSPC 750 pump

Which would be better and why?

mpc350 = more head (3.3m vs 1.8m for the 750)
mpc350 = less volume (440 lph vs 750 lph for the 750)

ek top may change performance slightly, but I say you are good either way. For that loop (without and crazy rad placement), the 750 will more than do the trick.

Actually, it is not a good idea to run two different pumps in one loop. Considering spec difference of both pump, one can get "starved", as the second one pushed more water through the loop. This can lead to the "weaker pump" try to keep-up with performance of the "faster" one, which can lead to faster engine wear of the pump.

Best to use two identical units if you are going to run a loop with dual pumps.

Use one or the other unless they are both the same. Personally I'd go with the 350 as they're quiet and perform very well.

Id go with the 350 on its own if i was you but you then need a resovoir and the 350 LPH Pump is fast enough to be honest

I would run the 750 pump. You won't notice a difference with either pump, but with the MCP 350 you'd have to rig up a reservoir as well.

SO. I guess I am still wondering based on your comments and other things I have read... if a MCP350 with a top is that much of an upgrade when used with this kit (specifically the rad, right?), or if it's just not that much of an upgrade overall?

And how about running two pumps off one res but into a T just before the CPU block? Anyone? This same technique (2 pumps feeding into one line) is used with fuel pumps on cars to get additional fuel pressure and keep reasonable flow.

I wouldn't bother with that... flow rates above 1 GPM don't affect your temperatures anyways, so adding the second pump won't do anything other than complicate your loop.

for the cpu only, the x20-750 is fine, if your planning to run your gpu(s) in the mix, then the 350 when you add them.
