Day of Defeat: Source stuttering

Thread Starter
Every few seconds I get stuttering, like when i try to reflex aim at someone it sticks in one point for a fraction of a second, gets pretty annoying when you cant turn completely around.

The only console commands that I have tried were Cl_updaterate 101 and rate 30000

no changes

any help?

Can be two things:
1 - network
> your connection is bad
> the server isn't good, or not optimized to where you are
2 - your hardware can't handle the game.

I would start checking by case two... did you check your CPU stress history? see if it's at 100% most of the time.
Sabe goes to your video card...
check your settings, including vsync, and if your video card's control painel isn't overriding the game settings with extreme setting, like 10000x anti-aliasing, for example...

To check your connection you can type on CMD, inside windows: ping -t www.google.com.br (if nothing shows up, it may be because your connection blocks external pings, don't worry, you can google for other ways to check ping stability). But before doing that try to run a server on your local machine, if it doesn't stutter, then it's your connection stability...

if networking is the problem, you could also try
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_lagcomperrorcheck 0/1

hope I helped...

I've been having the same problem with CSS and DOD:S since the new updates the other day. A lot of people I have talked to on servers are also having the same problem. Seems like some sort of bug in the update - but that is just my best guess given the amount of people having the same problem.
