Low score in 3dmark06... - Page 2

I don't know how I was supposed to get that from what you posted and I don't know how that helps me.

Well I have to work with what I got and I still have a low score in 3dmark06 with the 8800gt. I think the 8800gt might have a problem with it also. I bought it on these forums a while back and I should of just sent it back to him back then.

Figured it out I think.

I thought it might have been less stability given temps because I am no longer watercooling with a very good setup. So i've been redoing my OC on my q6600 from stock raising fsb by increments of 10 and keeping it on stock voltage. I've gotten up to 3.21 on stock voltage stable so far. I honestly did not know I could raise it that high on stock voltage! I've gotten it up to 4ghz but with insane voltage on water... maybe with some tweaking I can get it to 4ghz again on air! I was stressing it with OCCT.

I tested the stability of the 8800gt core before but I never thought about the memory. OCCT has a built in GPU memory tester.

I found my problem... memory is BROKEN. It must have that faulty memory that the 8800gt's used to suffer from back in the day. Wasn't it samsung and some other company or something? Whatever.

I bought this crappy 8800gt used on the forums and I always knew it was a piece of **** when it was crashing during some benchmarks. It just had decent PPD so I didn't bother sending it back to him. I was using my good 4850 for gaming . Stupid of me.

Oh well. The bad memory has to be the culprit of the bad score. It utterly failed the OCCT test. It crashes in BFBC2. It crashes in MNC. It crashed in TF2.

This has not been a good end of the year for my computer, but it's alright. Things will get better when I get a GTX460 or something close to one.
