DVD to iso - Page 2

DVD Fab is great. I hope I'm not getting off topic too much, but how can I convert the ripped files (audio_ts & video_ts folders) into an ISO?

DVD descrypter is the simplest and free way to do that.

There are many ways to go from disk to ISO. As some have mentioned, you can rip all files to folders using DVD Shrink or DVD Fab (or others). I use either DVD Shrink to rip to folders then ImgBurn to burn to disk (or use the option folder to iso file for HDD storage of an ISO). I also sometimes use DVD Fab to rip to either folders (video_ts and audio_ts) and burn to disk with ImgBurn; or I use the destination bar at the top of DVD Fab, click on the blue disk to the right of it, and select my iso destination.

I used to backup all my storebought DVD's by making a copy and using the copy. This got expensive (wife and I don't have cable/dish TV so we buy lots of movies and get lots of movies as gifts) and I found we either scratched the disks easily or they "went bad" after several uses and ended up skipping. Seemed like a waste of money to me. Now, I just rip the audio/video_ts folders to my media HDD and stream them to my TV or other computers in the house. VLC player handles the folders just fine, and saves you the extra step of converting to iso and them mounting the iso before playing it.

I create "roadtrip" DVDs when I go on trips; they can be played on a portable DVD player in the car, while the original stays safely at home in its case. I use DVDfab to copy the whole structure to disk, and then use DVDShrink to re-author (stripping out all menus and extras) and create an ISO.
This is what I do, nice when you forget the disk and grandma's and know that you still have it at home.
I primarily use DVDshrink, but I have come across a few movies that won't rip with it, so I use DVDFab as my backup ripper.
Lately I have been putting them on a USB drive or my netbooks HD, and delete it when done.

Not sure if DVDfab has the option, but as above, just use DVDshrink once you have the Video_TS folder and you can save it as an .iso.
