New 3D setup!

post #1 of 8

So I wanted to know what you thought before I pulled the trigger on this new equipment.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0044UHXJI/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER"]Amazon.com: ASUS VG236HE 23-Inch LCD Monitor: Electronics[/ame]

and

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046TNR42/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A2YLYLTN75J8LR"]Amazon.com: NXG Technology NX-3DG Active Shutter Type 3D Glasses: ANTOnline[/ame]

I will be using these with my XFire 6870's with some of them third party 3D drivers.

What do you all think? Has anyone had any experience with this equipment? Or with ATI 3D tech? I'm interested in your opinions.

I like this one much better (x3).

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2268WM-3D-Ready-1680x1050-Resolution/dp/B002L27KQC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1292906332&sr=1-1"]Amazon.com: ViewSonic VX2268WM 22-Inch 120 Hz 3D-Ready Monitor with 1680x1050 Resolution and Stereo Speakers - Black: Electronics[/ame]

So it is 22 inch 1680 x 1050 and $70 less per monitor. BUT, the glass is as tall due to the 16:10 aspect vs 16:9 on the 23 you have. The bezzel also looks much smaller.

You GPUS will push more FRAPs and you save a lot with les bezzel*.

I appreciate the help but this does not apply to me..

1. 16:9 is a more desirable aspect ratio due to scaling of movies and such.

2. I don't care about bezels... confused.gif Didn't say anything about eyefinity.

3. Lower resolution....

Other than that. Thanks for the reply biggrin.gif

Xbit gave it a very good review. Good color, response time, use in 3D.

But the OP wants 16:9
