WD Raptors Read Write Speed

Ok so I met this guy selling Wd800adfs. They are a 80gb and supposedly sata 2 3gbps. I can not find the read write speed to save my life. I'm looking at buying these today in a few hours so can anyone help I've been doing numerous searches.

Also how can I confirm they are sata 2 3gbps? New egg says they are but some random small online companies say the interface is sata 1.5gbps.

Please help.

PS He's also selling them for only $30 which I think is a pretty good deal but if I'm going to buy 2 I want to make sure I'm going to notice a difference from my standard 7200rpm drive.

I have the WD1500ADFD. Its at 1.5 drive.

I've bench marked it with Crystal Disk Mark on a fresh install at 90mbps r/w As it gets loaded up it gets slower.

Honestly I wouldn't buy those 80's. Take that $60 and get a nice new drive.

I wish ssd's were cheaper. I don't even need space I just need speed. Thanks.

for around $80-100 you could get a 60-ish gb ssd that would kill those two 80's in raid.

But I also heard ssd's deteriorate over time and become less and less responsive. Is that true?

I know they have a limited number of read/writes but I am not too sure on your question. We are going to have to wait for a SSD expert to chime in.
