compaq case motherboard change

Thread Starter
Would I be able to use a gigabyte motherboard to swap out a motherboard in a compaq computer case? I'm not sure how to swap these computer out because the wires seem different. If it's not possible, I would have to get a different computer case right? it is a intel based computer. much appreciated.

edit: im not sure if i should be putting this thread in intel forum or computer case forum. sorry

well, I suppose as long as the motherboard is the same form factor ie: mATX, is should work. Although like you said the wires may be proprietary to the current motherboard.

The only problem I can think of right now would be the connections for the power and reset buttons if they are proprietary to the motherboard that is currently in there. maybe if you had a picture I could tell.
