It still wasn't working. I gave up and just installed windows xp.

I had the same message pop up when I tried to install a corrupted copy of windows from dvd. I burned the dvd too fast so it got corrupted.

So my advise would be to Format the USB (use Fat32 optioin) and try again?

Try using a usb flash drive as suggested. As the install will be way faster then using a disc in a drive. Download this tool, point it to your iso and have your flash drive in and then you are set. Boot up using the flash drive and have fun.
