Well on full load I'm getting about 53C for an hour so far and no problems.

What are your ambient temps? That's a pretty high idle temp. I would try a reseat with better TIM or get a new cooler. I wouldn't even think about overclocking yet with temps like those on idle

yeah too high 50c for idle. default oc at stok 3.4Ghz with 1.3voltage and stok cooling from AMD genuine 965C..HSF extra cooper. clean and try thermal compound from OCZ stok.

So i am confused VRM option EFI Bios, reguler, medium, high, ultra high and extreme. so EFI bios have temp max 90C.

I am worried 965 BE is highest temp at 50-56C

multi = 20
fsb = 200
vcore = can not drop below 1.53v
htt = 2000
htt voltage = 1.4
cpu/nb = 2400
cpu/nb voltage = 1.3
nb voltage = 1.36
sb voltage = 1.35
ddr voltage = 1.68
memory settings = factory rated settings
With those settings, my watercooled AMD 965BE@4ghz idles at 38C and reaches around 50C under load with ~24C ambient.
Hope that helps smile.gif
Edit: and regarding what is safest max vcore for AMD PII CPUs - I have run this CPU 965BE over 1.55v since I got it and it hasn't missed a beat. As long as you keep the temps under control and within safe limits you're CPU will outlast your build cycle smile.gif

Help. I tried following these settings on my Biostar A870U3 MB and same processor and when I saved the settings on the BIOS it would'nt turn on anymore. Tried resetting the CMOS settings but still won't turn on. Did I mess up my motherboard or processsor by any chance? Mobo doesnt have a battery so the only way I tried clearing the CMOS is by switching the jumpers.

I would not over-clock using your MB. It doesn't have the proper cooling for your MOSFETs (the area to the left of your cpu). you could fry them when you increase the voltage. If you want to over-clock safely you will need a MB that has heatsinks covering that area. Also I'm sure about your power phase on that board. Though you maybe able to over-clock slightly on that board, I would not go too high and sustain a high over-clock or you WILL blow it eventually (more often than not).

How long should I remove the battery? I have it removed right now and the jumper settings on clear.
