iPad/Gmail/Outlook = Epic Win. - Page 2

the only thing i cannot stand about gmail on the ipad is how if you select inbox, you have no way to delete mail.. just move it to some non-existent archive that i really have no desire to use because i dont get that much mail....

I have to go to all mail first and then delete from there...

It's true, for the ipad, I haven't figured out a select whichever I want feature, to pick and choose deletion options, etc. But if anyone knows, would love to know.

wow nobody even looked at my post. What is the point of taking notes and having them emailed to you anyway.
You guys all do realize the ipad is just an oversized ipod touch. literally.
Takeing notes in class on a touch/slate device and having people look at you funny is not that big of a deal.
I just find it in credibly funny that people seem to think and ipad can replace a laptop, when in reality it has the same functionality as an ipod touch.

I bet you I'd have a lot more fun carrying around my iPad for a day than you carrying around your laptop without a bag. Not to mention, my battery would last a lot longer.

As far as it replacing a laptop, no iPad owners ever think this. It's only people that don't have one, don't want one, or hate Apple that say these things. Also, saying it's an oversized iPod touch shows how much you actually have not used one. They may do some things similarly, but until you've used an iPad, you don't know how different they are.

The only time I go on my PC now is when I want to play hardcore games or write some music.

Side note: I never really cared for them, but my GF got me one and now I can't stay off it. Infinity Blade anyone?

He's right though...

Hardware and software-wise, tablets are no different than a high-end smartphone. In fact, the Iphone has more memory than your ipad. I just don't see what the point of a tablet is...it sports a very lightweight OS found in smartphones, and the hardware found in them are often the same ones used for smartphones. I may as well get a smartphone, or spend a bit more and get a better hardware/software-capable device like a laptop/netbook. The sacrifice is a couple of ounces in some cases.

Since I have an iPhone I would take a MacBook over an iPad. But man an iPad would be great for browsing the web while laying in bed or on the couch or something.

I own an iPod Touch and I tried the iPad and for the most part the iPad is in fact a large iPod Touch.

another thing nobody has mentioned is the touch-screen keyboard on a PC vs the iPad. That is a pretty big loss for a laptop in tablet mode IMO. However, disregarding that feature I would prefer a tablet PC

That's fine and dandy, but your personal usage/preferences means nothing to me and vice vesa. Also, the battery life is a huge factor as well.

How long have you used it for? Like I said, on the surface they seem similar, and they are, but once you start using them you'll see the differences.
