Cant pick up HDMI?

So basically ive got my Xbox hooked up to a genuine tv screen with a HDMI cable. This weekend i went and stopped at a friends house and i took my xbox with me, i played it on his tv which is virtually the same as mine at home, again connected with HDMI no problems. then when i come i plug everything back in sort everything out, and i switch on my xbox, pick up my tv remote... source> HDMI and very strangely my tv just goes blue and says 'HDMI No input'. but the xbox works fine!? any suggestions urgently!

Try resting the Xbox while keeping the TV on the HDMI source. Also you should try using the component cable to rule out any error's from the Xbox's side.

I can't say I've personally had this problem though. Very strange.

Could you have broken your tv's hdmi port when you took the cord out?

You can test easily this by plugging in a different HDMI device or plugging in the Xbox to another HDMI port.

I highly doubt it though. These TV's have to withstand 'some' abuse as not all consumers are super careful with electronics as others.

Ok guys so i tried it on another tv, not it comes up with a green flashing screen fast enough to give someone a fit. and a strangle chunky line down the right bottom corner. BUT it works with a normal HD component cable.

Bad HDMI cable?

Genuine TV opposed to what, counterfeit?

Hmmmm what a strange problem, have you tried checking for any dust that might've fallen inside?

But did you:
  1. Turn off TV + xbox.
  2. Connect HDMI.
  3. Turn on TV.
  4. Turn on Xbox
?
