I wondered this too... could be issue with the HDMI "handshake" between XBOX and TV after being used on multiple TV's. Gotta be a way to reset the video output. On PS3's, you have to reset the video before you can go back to using Composite RCA cables, you do this by holding down the power button for X seconds. Not sure about XBOX.

I had this problem with a ps3 switching from composite to hdmi, it didn't want to detect the hdmi after. Also had a similar issue with xbox.

Keep testing it may not be dead.

Hmm looks like either the cable is bad, or worse the port is bad. I NEVER move consoles, I mean I did that and thats how I broke my GPU.....

I've got two theories for this, bare in mind my experiences are with the PS3 though, not the xbox 360.

1: You have to manually set the output resolution on the PS3. For example if I want 1080p I have to set 1080p in the display options in the settings. If I then plug my PS3 into a display that is only capable of 720p it doesn't display an output. I have to plug it into the 1080p display and set the resolution to display 720p and then plug it into the 720p display.

That may be your problem if you are trying to output 'full hd' on a screen that is not capable.

2. The other day I thought my HDMI slots on my TV had broken because it wouldn't display my PS3 or my PC via any of the 4 HDMI slots.

I simply started clutching at straws and trying everything to resolve the issue. I tried different GPU's and only RGB cables worked, rather than HDMI cables. My 360 worked via component cable but my PS3 wouldn't work via HDMI. At this point I thought my HDMI slots were pretty much buggered, then I decided to reset my TV to factory settings and for some reason it worked.

I know it's a long shot, but try that any way.
