I'd say the writing wasn't as good, and the Sphere Grid probably had more depth than the Crystarium (XIII's answer to Sphere Grid).

Hope that answers your question.
its does, thanks mate rep+

It's a misunderstood game, I think. It's a pretty fun, if rather short FF title but with a 20 hour tutorial section.

It was interesting enough for me to grind through the first two discs (the "run forward and mash buttons" chapters). The combat is actually pretty sophisticated once you get the hang of it, but by no means perfect. The plot is annoying and the writing and/or translating is cheesy, but if you take it on the game's own terms it's at least interesting through most of it.

Worth it if you like FF/JRPGs and can stomach the filler. It's not a disappointing game so much as it is exhausting.

my sister thought it was cool at first, but couldn't care less for the characters 20% into the game.
