Normal temps for i5 760?

Thread Starter
So im on air @ stock speeds with a Akasa freedom tower CPU cooler and its stock fan.

Now my coretemp tells me 20c 20c 20c 26c

Core 0 @ 26 is somewhat the usual for that core, and something about using 1 core for simple apps and such (something like that anyway)

Now core 2 Keeps ticking from 20 to 28's in a flash, I would really like to know why, Also when i keep media player on it will stay in the 28's and sometimes it will just stay in the 28's after i have had the pc on for a while. but will tick back to 22 a few times.

Not had the pc on load yet but i have not seen the max temps go past 47c

Im just wondering if this is normal.

temps on chips dont stay the same all the time. they tend to jump up and down for no reason. probs diferent levels of resources being pulled. and the core 4 staying higher than others happens on my 760 as well. core 4 stays on 40 while the others are at 38. you have nothing to worry about. as long as your temp passes 80-85c thats when you should start worrying about temps

Your temps are normal and core temps tend to spike large numbers when suddenly load is put on them like when you open Firefox it goes past Idle temps 6~10 degrees, so don't be afraid it's quite ordinary.

I believe if c1 state is enabled and turbo mode is on then it will bump the cpu multi and one/two cores will run at higher clocks while the others disable.

Run a quick IBT test and see if all 4 temps level out to around the same number..

Antoher possibility is a stuck sensor.. If that core never goes below 26c then it may be getting stuck there....
