Got my copy of GT5 with a twist - Page 2

I find that the individual staff make a huge difference as well as the store.
Sometimes I'm able to get someone who will actually "assist" me and make my feel welcome.. others are rude little turds who severely need to be skull****ed with wii remote.

Generally they're not too bad but whenever I seem to mention price matching they act like I'm asking for a kidney. Heaven forbid they would actually BEAT a price instead of matching the neighboring store whose prices are consistently low.

Approx. 20 minutes left on the install, funny thing is the timer hasn't moved and neither has the progress bar, its still at 0%. Its been going for 35mins now.

Mine has a Mach xtreme 60Gb SF1222 SSD in it, it should be powering along.

Oh right.

I think toms said the install was about 20 mins with an SSD. How long has yours been going now?

About 45 minutes now. Im starting to get worried I messed something up during the HDD swap which I did just for GT5. It's now advanced to 10% but still 20mins.

I seem to recollect tests said installation on an SSD was catastrophically long compared to a regular HD, but the load times were much quicker. I'm not sure why, but lemme try find the article.

My install on stock 80GB drive took 40 minutes.

I really doubt you'll have messed something up, it's just GT being itself.

I found this post in another forum, but that's it.

Wow that USB thumb drive looks awesome!

I wonder if I could buy one on eBay.

I may end up stopping the install if I can and putting a 7200rpm 320Gb back in it.

I figured it was, the swap was very painless. I'm dying to perv on the stealth car set, and all the premium cars and such like. I'll be hoping to grab the Digital car gifts on xmas eve.

Damns shame GT Academy has started already, I was looking forward to competing.
