Low Ram test in prime95

Thread Starter
It says in prim95 that the first test is "Ram not tested much". I had a failure under the blend test. IS it good to use the "Ram not tested much option" to eliminate the processor as the problem since this test apparently relies mostly on the processor and less on the ram?

Yes, You can use small or large they do as stated, you can also use memtest86 for just your ram.

When I first started using Prime95, I found a recommendation to use the custom test, setting the RAM used to a hundred meg or so less than the current free RAM. I use AIDA64 (formerly Everest) to show temperatures, RAM in use, CPU load, etc., while Prime95, LynX, or other stress tests are running. With 6 GB RAM, my system can run with the Prime95 Custom Memory to Use at 5000-5200.

If you want to test everything, just run LinX or Intel Burn Test and set it to maximum RAM.

i already had a failure with the prime95 default test on 2 out of 6 workers after 5 hrs appr. my goal now is to eliminate the cpu with a low ram test. my question is can this be done. btw i prefer to eliminate the cpu since i can run the prime95 or any other stress test and continue to use my computer.
