BFBC2 is a disappointment - Page 13

If asking what system I'd prefer in place of BC2's current respawns.. the Day of Defeat model would work just much better. The spawns would move up as each section was cleared (speaking with regards to rush mode) and the "reinforcements would be smart to work together to get back to the front from there.. or die. Right? Teamwork is still just as important in Day of Defeat as it is in BC2 or BO. The spawning ON teammates just gets abused so badly. Hide in enemy spawn and endless spawn teammates behind enemy lines.. fail. Hell I'd even go with.. to use a hockey analagy here... an "offsides" type line.. then folks can have their spawn on teammates without being able to do it "offsides" (using the furthest to the middle objective as the "line") and stop the spawn abuse. Again this is also solveable by admin enforced server rules. Just like bunny hopping, camping, objective/tactical play, blind nades, and etc can be enforced in BO's to get a more tactical game.
Totally, TOTALLY agree on your view where it's abused. Trust me, it aggravates me when I wipe out a team of guys, and before I can rush in for the last, all of them respawn on him together and I have no chance at all. VERY annoying. Especially when one little c**t (or even 2 guys in separate squads) sneak into your uncappable base and sits in a totally secluded hole to let their entire squads spawn on them. Imagine that with TWO full squads. But the squad spawning system is still appealing to me due to how well it encourages teamwork. In BF2 days, you were killed quite frequently from annoying things like parked vehicles and artillery that hit obnoxiously far from you, and it would have been so horrible to have to run or drive to your squad every time that happened. I do feel your Day of Defeat example would fit very well into Rush mode though. As for the rest, I won't debate anymore, because I guess it simply is bad experiences plus opinion. To me, having 4 of your guys all around each target is pretty lame camping. And your comment about clan servers that are admined, I was actually kicked from one for NOT wanting to camp the sites. They were whining at me to just sit and wait for them, and even though I did an awesome job of moving around to take out our terrorists they kicked me out.

As for the voice chat, you can even see who is speaking in your squad; it shows you at the lower left where their names are green. You see a small green speaker when they speak. You are limited to voice chatting only with your squad though, which is acceptable for BF since the squad system is intentionally designed to allow each squad to assign their own objectives. If you skim through this video you'll see it working, which by the way was uploaded months ago so the voice chat has been working for a while.

I think your issue is that you cast it in the role of a CoD type shooter. Fact of the matter is, nobody wants this game to be like CoD. People that play Battlefield games are people who want to get away from the arcade style run-and-gun of CoD.

CoD is child's play. Battlefield is directed more toward adults that have the attention span to play like a team and think beyond themselves.

Obviously, it doesn't always happen that way because there are tons of noobs in BC2 that come over from CoD and blow hard in rush games because they think they can just run in by themselves and save the day.

So i played the game.. and its bull****. Not for you guys maybe but for me, it dosent seem to be my taste of FPS MP game.

This i dislike
1 - Vehicles in game.
The apachee chopper and all the frigin tanks. The last thing
i want to expect is getting spwnkilled by some noobs on
the helicopter.

2 - No 1 man soldier spree
No killing spree. Everyone i kill someone, another dude is gonna backstab me from the back. And the map is so friggin big with full of campers, ill have to wait for 1 hour just to get 1 kill.

3 - No 1 hit KO with a sniper rifle
Enough said. This is boring.

Im switching to MW2.

what game have you been playing?
just avoid tanks and Choppers.
i do on 1 man sprees all the time. you most likely don't have the skill.
yes the bolt action snipers are one hit KO.

1: All of which can easily be taken out with some teamwork. As for the spawnkilling, yer thats a problem in any game.

2: So because your not an OP mofo that can take a million bullets it sucks?..o.0

3: Sounds like laziness to me with a scent of no skill. It actually takes skill to get a 1-shot kill in BC2. You need to get a HS and account for gravity...Oh god the realism is killing me...o.0

TBH you sound like a really skill-less player that just wants to camp a corner and spam his gun anytime someone comes into view.

---

BC2 is about teamwork and skill, and it does have a learning curve for each weapon, since each weapon does different damage and is affected by distance.

People who seem to think their tastes are better because they are "more patient" and "don't ever, ever rush in" would really face a rude awakening in an even more hyper-realistic game. Like ARMA, Red Orchestra, or America's Army. I say, force all these guys to play it for a solid month, then have them go on the forums and enter the same complaints that COD players have about Battlefield games.

Biggest gripe with the game is no strafe, and how the character runs like he's 800 lbs overweight. The game is just overall slow-paced to me. Weapon graphics look a little generic and on the bland side, as well. Almost like they were all recycled from BF2. Yeah.
