Thread Starter
I did restart, I am using the 2 speaker output with RCA connectors to a M-Audio SBX 10 sub, the speakers are then off the sub.

Have you tried bypassing the sub and running the monitors directly into the sound card? I have never had my Essence attempt to "test" my speaker connections.

Unfortunately I dont have the cables to directly run the speakers to the card. What I am still confused about is the fact that even with the headphone output selected I am not getting sound on the headset. (and yes, they are plugged into the right ports)

Can I get a picture of where things are being plugged in on your sound card? If you think Skyping may be easier means of communication, since we could utilize screen sharing and such, my Skype ID is rcharpentier87.

I know that you have most likely done this but just in case.

On the bottom right of your screen you have the speaker. Right click that and open playback devices and make sure you are on the speakers you want.

Lastly and this is the worst but I have done this [face-palm]. Make sure you plugged your speakers into the new sound card and not the on-board one.
