I promise you that it's a great experience with a wheel. You're doing it wrong if you think it's hard to drive with a wheel. Or you're my sister and don't know how to drive with a wheel/at all.
nah man I've played plenty of games with a wheel. I have a logitech momo and I am used to games like GTR2 and Evolution where the steering is super precise and crisp. Obviously on Dirt 2 you are racing on dirt roads mostly so there is so much over steer its very hard to compensate. The cars are always fish tailing out of control and what not. Just a not a fun experience.

Go buy GTR2 and play it with a wheel. Then go try to play Dirt2. Its like using a a controller for an FPS game.

0 unless you are level 1 by default I can't seem to get into racing games. I finished a race or two and went back to an FPS..

I have so called completed the game, and I am at lvl 78 on PC. All events are gold, and nothing new has popped up after 20 races. There is no end to this game.

I happen to have set a WR (see http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/89...l#post11727601) using the Logitech Momo in the PC version of the game. I know EXACTLY how the cars in this game handle using a wheel. Not hard to control at all. GTR might be more precise (probably is, being a simulator), but they're different games and in Dirt you drive on, well, dirt. Still, not hard to control.

And when I slide in that vid, it's because I want to/because I'm on the edge of what the car can do.

Impressive!

I suppose with enough practice I could get used to it. But still if you can get a WR in Dirt 2 I wonder how well you can do in GTR2. Probably multiple world records lol

Seriously try it out tell me its not epic with a wheel. You can feel everything in terms of realism and feedback. Its an older game but its probably the best pc racing game.

Yeah, I know it's good, every PC racing game gets flamed by the GTR2/iRacing/rFactor enthusiasts Man, just check the F1 2010 forums, it's a rage fest.
I'll give the GTR2/GTR Evolution demos a try right away just to actually feel the tires grip the road the right way . The price has always scared me away from the simulators, but GTR Evolution for €5 on Steam looks like a nice deal, considering it's €45 on the Danish market...

EDIT: Damn, Steam servers unavailable. No GTR:E demo for now :/ GTR2 has already been DL'ed though

And I think I'd get raped in these simulators, I was actually quite surprised that I was so good at Dirt 2, considering I'm not old enough to drive a car IRL.

2nd edit: Aww, you need Race 07 to get GTR:E Still cheaper for both games than the Danish shops though. Funny that the demo apparently doesn't require Race 07, I thought they were separate games...

I'm using the logitech dual action controller and can barely control the vehicles. maybe it's just my cheapo controller. Does the Xbox controller work well?
