A single molex connection, supplying electricity to a slot which normally draws it. PCIe are all serial, so wouldn't electricity have to travel further up the PCIe hierarchy before supplying another slot?

Aren't you juicing up components which are only expecting power from a completely different direction?

I can understand the molex and additional connectors on the boards themselves, as that power can be added after the 24-pin connector, but before the power is distributed to the slots.

If this works, why are similar tricks not used in every $500 eVGA video card?
PCIe slots can import or export current; that's been in the spec's from the start.

They're doing this now because it has effected certain Classy boards.

And EVGA's cards don't do it because they've never thought about it till now and almost EVERYTHING they do nVidia wise is reference design.

Will this actually work?

Something like this would only be necessary with say sli 480s and 580s right?

How about sli 570s?

$20 worth a try imo. Maybe use it in a board like a ud3r.

I forsee an accident tug on the cord, moving it and shorting something out. Can't be any worse than V-Tac!!!! I wonder if you feel it kick in?

Are those slots really serial? That seems like an overly complicated way to do it. Wouldn't parallel be easier?

Also, is there any ripple protection on there? It seems like a low quality power supply would actually do more harm than good for overclocking stability.

So I take it this "product" is actually a ghetto fix for the classified 24pin burning up issue -in a nutshell
