[FoxNews] FCC Approves Plan to Regulate Internet - Page 3

Biased news source I'm afraid. Even Semiaccurate is less biased than fox news.

I see we already have a politically motivated vulture circling this thread and quoting people.

I can't see how it's not possible. Throughout American history this country is known for shock therapy and false flags to achieve it's objectives.

With 9/11 we see the centralization of government and removal of civil liberties.

With the financial meltdown we see the consolidation economic institutes.

With Wikileaks we're seeing the prerequisites of internet policing. (Get real people, if Julian Assange really was a serious threat to American national security, don't you think a "accident" would've happened to him by now?)

Then agian, the American population is so dumbed down we'll believe anything our government tells us.

The US is slowly moving toward a Chinese style state albeit using a more mellow and sly method compared to the direct approach by the Chinese, at least with the Chinese you know you're ******, the American method, you wouldn't know what hit you and even if you did it'll already be too late, that is the true "American way".

*edit* This isn't some BS conspiracy theory, this is real. Cause and effect. There's no need to read anything or have someone tell you, just look around you with your own 2 eyes and ask yourself, what do you see happening now that's different from before? But of course, if you're part of the dumbed down masses then you'll continue believing what Fox News tells you.

The problem people need to have with this whether you disagree with it or not is the fact that the court has already ruled that it is unconstitutional for the FCC to do this but they do it anyways:

Source

Analysts and broadband companies of all sizes have told the FCC that new rules are likely to have the perverse effect of inhibiting capital investment, deterring innovation, raising operating costs, and ultimately increasing consumer prices. Others maintain that the new rules will kill jobs. By moving forward with Internet rules anyway, the FCC is not living up to its promise of being "data driven" in its pursuit of mandates—i.e., listening to the needs of the market.

I'm moving to Sweden or Norway if I ever get the chance... I'd rather be freezing cold with fast shared internets(Norway has some ISP's that offer 60+ up and 15+ down) than be in a future Communistic United States...

Since you guys are so intent on arguing about the politics and the source instead of the bill itself, and since the rules for the bill aren't even known yet*, I'm gonna have to close this. Post it again under a different source once things have been fully clarified.

If you're looking for the actual rules you'll have to wait. Several Commissioners complained they only received the finalized rules at nearly midnight last night. The FCC declared today that the agency won't be releasing them today -- they'll be releasing them in a few days after the agency finishes "tweaking" them.
